Spotlight: SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAMME
We still have places left in our Crafty Creations session this afternoon at 3.30pm. We are making bendable water snakes and the cost is $3.00 per participant. Call 6740 2190 to book.
We are approaching the final week of the School Holiday Programme and we have kept the best until last! Unfortunately, there won’t be a craft session at Curlewis on Monday, due to the Australia Day holiday, but we have sessions running on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Gunnedah at 3.30pm. Bookings are required and the cost is $3.00. Whether you are waiting to return to school or are looking for something to do after school, come along and make a peg pirate, a 3D crab or a pirate ship!
Spotlight: AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
As a new school year begins, we turn our minds to how we can keep the children busy after the bell rings and the day is over. Luckily, the library has programmes in place to fill this gap.
On the first and third Wednesday of the month, we present Junior Brain Games, a mix of reading, puzzles and craft. These sessions are for children aged 8-12 years and are FREE! They start at 3.30pm and run for one hour. Bookings can be made by ringing the library on (02) 6740 2190.
On the second and fourth Wednesday of the month, we have Make It!, a cross-generational craft session that combines the fun of creating with the thriftiness of recycling. People of all ages can come along and make crafts that are not only attractive, but useful. Sessions start at 3.30pm and run for one hour at a cost of $3.00 per participant. Keep an eye out in this column, in the library or on our Facebook, for the next session. Please ring the library on (02) 6740 2190 to book your spot!
Spotlight: NEW BOOKS
Join Eva in Eva Reddy’s Trip of a Lifetime (AF MCK) by Fiona McKenzie Kekic. Waking up on her fiftieth birthday, Eva quickly discovers her husband is having an affair, she has been restructured out of her job, and her elderly parents have wilfully gone missing from their group tour of India, leaving a trail of bizarre TikTok videos.
Care and Feeding (BIOG 641 WOO) by Laurie Woolever, traces her path from a small town, to working at some of the most revered restaurants in the world. This is her story, away from the glitz, glamour and perspiration of commercial kitchens, as she works to carve out her own space in this world.
How to Design a Garden (712 WIL) by Pollyanna Wilkinson will walk you through each step of your garden design process, from assessing your space and measuring up, developing your ideas and choosing materials, to create a space that works for you.
