Guard-of-honour for Stan Single APM

RETIRED Superintendent Stan Single APM was remembered for his extensive service to the NSW Police Force. Mr Single died peacefully at Orange Hospital aged 74 years on 19 June with his funeral held at the Gunnedah Town Hall. Officers of all ranks paid tribute to Mr Single by forming a guard-of-honour and saluting as the funeral cortege left the town hall for the Memorial Park Lawn Cemetery. Community working bee ahead of Wean Races

FOR the past few months, local volunteers have been gathering for weekly working bees to get the racetrack and amenities in order ahead of the Wean Picnic Races, held on Saturday, 11 July. Putting the new fence in the inner ring, cleaning out the clubhouse, stables and oodles of painting were just some of the jobs ticked off the list before the big day. Gunnedah Shire Band claims seven titles at state championships

THE Gunnedah Shire Band has cemented its reputation as one of the state’s leading community bands after bringing home seven state championship titles from the Band Association of NSW 2026 NSW State Solos and Party Championships. Ten band members travelled to Sydney on 27 and 28 June to compete against some of the finest brass and percussion musicians from across New South Wales, returning with an outstanding haul of seven state championships, four runner-up finishes and four third-place results.
