Funding boost for Moree Race Club

Moree Race Club will be able to replace its 50-year-old amenities block thanks to funding from the NSW government. Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall announced a $229,101 grant for the club to demolish and replace its current crumbling amenities block. Mr Marshall said the ageing facilities were often stretched far beyond capacity at the club’s busy race meetings, forcing the club to fork out tens of thousands of dollars to hire portable toilets. Editorial: Gunnedah benched for priority in government funding

OPINION: Road funding is being fast-tracked to local governments across the state but it appears Gunnedah Shire Council may need to wait a little longer yet. A new pilot scheme to speed up disaster assistance payments to select local councils has delivered $296 million in funding in just three months, according to the NSW government.
