Gunnedah Physie relishes a year of success

Gunnedah Physical Culture (Physie) capped off an incredible 2024, celebrating outstanding achievements on the competition stage and continuing to grow as a vital part of the community. The club shone at multiple events last year, starting with the Speers Point Interclub competition on August 4, when 27 Gunnedah members displayed their talent and passion. A week later, 28 dancers demonstrated their dedication and skill as they represented the club at the Coffs City competition on the North Coast. Gunnedah swimmers relish annual camp

Gunnedah swimmers had a phenomenal week of training, team bonding and social activities on their annual Gold Coast camp which left a long-lasting impression on the squad. Thirty children attended the elite camp at the Gold Coast Performance Centre at Runaway Bay, where they took part in an action-packed six-day program that involved intensive pool training sessions, racing skills and fun-filled adventures where new friends and life-long memories were made. Opening batter leads the way

Claire McGuirk had a thoroughly productive time as an opening batter for the NSW Country Bush Breakers in their march to the finals at this year’s Australian Country Cricket Championships. The Gunnedah product regularly faced the first ball for the NSW Country women’s team, as she played in 10 of the team’s 11 fixtures in the Barossa Valley from January 4 to 10. The Bush Breakers had eight wins and three defeats, having twice lost to Victoria Country before losing a semi-final to Queensland Country which subsequently went down to the Victorians in the decider.
