It was a happy blending of cultures last Saturday in Gunnedah when about 50 adults and children from 16 different nationalities and heritage shared a multicultural fun day with lots of laughter.

Multicultural Women’s Association president, Katerina Haenga, said it was a great day to catch up and to welcome and get to know newcomers, be it from overseas or from the local community.

“We are so pleased that we will have a more vibrant Gunnedah community as we received families and individuals from Pakistan, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Japan, Philippines, and the UK,” Katerina said.

“We are also delighted that we have now more than 20 countries represented in our association, and we look forward to being an even stronger support system for our
multicultural community.”

The day was filled with foods – both international and Aussie style – an MWA information session, new member registration and fun games for everyone that brought people closer together.
