UPDATE FRIDAY:

The Gunnedah Speedway event has been postponed due to heavy rain.

EARLIER:

Grant Jackson is looking for a podium finish in the RSA NSW Fender Benders Title at Gunnedah Speedway on Saturday.

The Gunnedah driver is running off a great finish at the Shorty Forty event in Gunnedah in February.

Starting from 15th place in the feature race, Grant placed fourth in the coveted Shorty Forty memorial race.

Taking to the track again this weekend in his number 15 Falcon ute, Grant said the state title is anyone’s for the taking in the almost 30-car field.

“If we can keep the car in one piece to the end, anyone has a chance,” he said.

Grant has claimed several podium places already this race season but is up against a quality field of drivers this weekend.

“There are a lot of good cars – a few new people and a couple of old drivers have come back,” he said.

“It should be a good day of racing.”

When Grant is not steering his own car around the track, he is usually helping out son Bailey with his speedway racing.

The 14-year-old competes in the junior division at Gunnedah Speedway, driving his faithful Ford Laser.
