Music lovers of all genres can now rejoice as the Gunnedah Conservatorium’s 2024 Events Booklet is ready for the public.

The booklet details the wide variety of performances the Conservatorium brings to the region along with exam dates for students so readers can factor in the major musical events most important to them.

The program makes it easy to book tickets with QR codes to scan for tickets, keeping prices reasonable with some events even free.

While “The Con” brings world class musical acts to the region’s stages, it has invested locally in this publication printed by The Printery and designed by Alyssa Barwick of Two Cats Creative.

The events booklet was first introduced last year but the staff wanted to update it with a cover that more closely identifies with the organisation.

Some may even recognise the young local talent on the front as Marley Redfern, a violin student aged 11 who now has a keepsake for her family.

She picked up lessons a year ago and finds her teacher, Iris Cornwell, to be kind and helpful.

“I really enjoy my lesson, Iris is really nice,” Marley said.

Director Rebecca Ryan was thankful for Marley toughing it out to be the front-page model.

The picture was taken by photographer and graphic designer Alyssa Barwick in December last year.

“The weather in December was terrible with smoke and storms. We rescheduled about three time and even then a storm whipped up but Alyssa was able to capture a great cover shot and then pick up the colours in the design of the booklet,” she said.

Copies are available from the Gunnedah Conservatorium in the Town Hall, the Visitors Centre and other local shops.
