A striking drawing has claimed the top prize in the Gunnedah Show art exhibition.
Exceptional quality was on show in this year’s display which is a much-loved fixture on the show programme.
Guests filled the pavilion for the announcement of winners at the Friday evening celebration.
Art section convenor Maree Kelly congratulated entrants on the array of works on display.
This year’s exhibition boasted 168 entries, with Tamworth artist Joanne Stead officiating as the judge.
Michelle Rapley, of Binnaway, was named as this year’s grand champion for her drawing titled ‘Moving Forward’.
“A striking work with a great drawing technique capturing the shadows and details just right and a strong composition,” the judge’s comments read.
