Gunnedah’s Mila Bates was announced as the winner of the Aquawest and Gunnedah Times colouring in competition last week.

As the competition’s winner, Mila and her family take home the prize of a Bushmans water tank and Grundfos pump, valued at more than $1800.

The competition was the brainchild of Aquawest’s director, Brett Abrahams, who wanted to give away something to the community that was more than ‘just chocolates’.

“This is a good useful present for the whole family,” Mr Abrahams said.

“To give someone the gift of quality and safe drinking water was my aim”.

Mila’s mum, Lisa Bates, was elated when she received the phone call to say they had won the prize.

“Our water tank has a crack in it, so this has come at the perfect time,” she said. “I would sincerely like to thank the team at Aquawest for such an amazing prize.”

After visiting the Gunnedah store Lisa was surprised at their vast product range.

“I will be able to grab some things to water my garden while I am in here also”.

The competition received more than 30 entries and the winner was chosen by Gunnedah Shire Council’s Marie Low and Jo McKinnon who are part of council’s communications team.
