One of Australia’s best-loved classical musicians, concert pianist Simon Tedeschi, will join jazz vocalist and violinist, George Washingmachine, for a one-time performance in Gunnedah later this month.
Tedeschi performs everything from Mozart and Chopin to Debussy and Prokofiev for orchestras, festivals, and venues around the world, from Sydney Opera House to Carnegie Hall. Recent highlights include as soloist with the Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Queensland Symphony Orchestras, tours with John Bell and numerous recordings for ABC Classics. With a long-harboured love of jazz, and three celebrated albums of Gershwin’s music to his name, Tedeschi teams up with jazz vocalist and violinist, George Washingmachine, for something a little different – Gershwin favourites and classic jazz standards by Cole Porter, Oscar Peterson, Fats Waller and more.
George has played all of the major festivals around Australia and performs for many corporate clients. He tours regularly in Europe, appearing at festivals in France, Switzerland (Ascona Jazz Festival) and the UK.
Hosted by the Gunnedah Conservatorium and presented in association with Musica Viva Australia, Simon Tedeschi and George Washingmachine will perform live at The Civic on Friday, June 21.
Doors open 6.30pm for a 7pm start. To book tickets, visit gunnedahconservatorium.com.au
