It was ‘Island Night’ at the Gunnedah Rugby Club last weekend. The festivities featured a captivating Tahitian dance performed by the Red Devils women’s team, coordinated by player Malia Mikaele.
This was followed by traditional Samoan and Pacific Island performances from sisters Lupe, Viliana and Malia Mikaele as well as Dima Ranamalo and Meri Leiataua.
Iliesa (Nimo) Navatu and Aisea Raitala prepared a traditional lovo, while Leiataua and the Mikaele family contributed with delicious traditional Samoan side dishes.
