Schools and netball parents are still singing the praises of Gunnedah’s under 12 representative team which won its division at the Tamworth carnival recently.
The squad was undefeated throughout its seven games played – just rewards for three months of commitment to their first year of representative netball.
It was a sensational effort for the rookie Gunnedah team which started at the bottom of the ladder at the Armidale carnival but finished victorious in Tamworth.
The players were supported by the more experienced netball girls including the U14 and U16 teams which also came away as champions at the Tamworth carnival.
“To say their parents and supporters are proud of their dedication, teamwork and commitment to each other over their first rep season is an understatement,” parent from the U12 team, Shay Baynton said.
Coach Maddy Buhagiar was also thoroughly impressed by all who competed and represented Gunnedah but gave special praise to Felicity Mammon who was presented the most improved player award.
