Register for meet the election candidates next week

A ‘Meet the Candidates’ evening will be held next week ahead of the 2024 Local Government Election for Gunnedah Shire Council.

Hosted by Gunnedah Chamber of Commerce and moderated by its president Ben Hennessy, the event will be held 6-7.30pm at Club Gunnedah on Thursday, September 5.

All 11 candidates standing for election in the Gunnedah shire have been invited by the chamber to take part in the public event.

Each candidate will be given a brief opportunity to introduce themselves before taking part in a question-and-answer session.

The Gunnedah shire community is also invited to take part but no questions will be taken from the floor on the night.

Those who wish to raise an enquiry with the candidates are requested to submit their question via the form available on chamber’s website prior to the event at gunnedah.org.au/mtcquestions

Question submissions close at 5pm on Monday, September 2.

Tamworth Regional Council held its Meet the Candidates session last week at Tamworth Town Hall where more than a dozen representatives are standing for election.

The 2024 Local Government Elections will be held on September 14.
