Why does council need a rate rise? To fully comprehend why, check out the following.
1. The lovely big expensive sign newly erected at Wolseley Park.
2. The kitchen/canteen as yet unopened at Gunnedah Saleyards. The amenities provided in that kitchen would rival any five star restaurant in any metropolitan city.
3. The as yet unopened very grand, dog park on Wandobah Road.
Just three examples of overspending on amenities not authorised by town ratepayers and I know there are others.
Maybe then, we’ll all understand why such a large rate rise is urgently needed by our council.
