Representing in seven divisions at last Sunday’s North West Championships, Gunnedah gymnasts claimed seven overall Gold medal placings.

All-Around champions were Lily Griffith (Junior Level 3), Lexie Martin (Senior Level 3). Ava Willoughby (Junior Level 4), Lilah Edmunds (Junior Level 5), Bianca Bayliss (Senior Level 5), Kelly Briggs (Level 7) and Mikayla Ferguson (Level 7). Other overall placings went to Savannah Campbell (Silver – L3 Junior), Eloise Launders (Silver – L3 Senior), Kate Randall (Bronze – L5 Junior), and Ruby Cygan (Silver – L5 Senior).

Along with individual overall awards, the Gunnedah girls claimed a swag of apparatus medals.

The competition saw clubs from around the North West Region converge to battle out the top spots in the Regional Championships hosted by Tamworth Gymnastics Club.

For many gymnasts, this was the final competition for the 2024 season, but six Level 5 gymnasts from Gunnedah will head to Sydney next weekend to contest the State Clubs Championship.
