Upgrades are continuing at Mulalley Memorial Hall to repair damage to the building’s internal structure after extensive repairs to the hall’s roof.

A Gunnedah Shire Council spokesperson said a building inspection early last year identified the Mullaley Hall roof required replacement.

“Due to its aged condition, water had leaked into the building, damaging internal infrastructure, and

causing an acceleration of wear and loss of useful life for the overall building,” the spokesperson said.

“Council’s total budget for the Mullaley Hall Roof Replacement is $131,827.

“The roof has now been replaced in full, however, there are still some minor associated works being completed including some repairs to the façade and internal ceiling tiles.

“It is expected these final works should be completed by the end of next month.”

In recent years, the Mullaley Hall’s floor, wall and paintwork were also refurbished.

The community facility, located on the Oxley Highway west of Gunnedah, is regularly used by pre school and fitness groups as well as touring music acts and shows.
