New faces form part of the Gunnedah CWA committee after its recent annual general meeting.

The committee membership includes president Leonie Harley, secretary Jo-Anne Little and treasurer Pina Guerrini.

In keeping with the theme of Pink Up October for breast cancer, CWA members wore pink to mark the occasion.

This week members travel to Manilla for the Namoi Group Conference after attendance at the Group Cultural and International Day at Willala in September.

Kris Scott won trophy for Recitation, reading ‘Grandma’s Laundry’ by Archie Bigg and took members back to the days of blue bags, dolly pegs and boiling copper.

Quirindi won the Best Skit, Jan Donaldson Best Actress, Colleen Wills won Culture From My Armchair, Best Vocal trophy went to Melanie and Jullian McHugh. The Cultural Officer’s award to Melanie McHugh and Encouragement Award to junior member Jillian McHugh.

The CWA will have a stall at the Christmas Fair in November which will be held in the Griffith Pavilion and members will be busy preparing items for that day.

There will be another workshop for Assisi next month and new members are welcome.
