Gunnedah Motorcycle Club (MCC) capped off a busy year of riding as the club held its fifth and final round on Sunday, October 13.

Each round took place at the club’s Balcary Park venue, with round one occurring back on April 28 after Gunnedah MCC hosted the Weeks of Speed/100 Year Anniversary/Railway Hotel Cup on March 23.

About 120 riders participated in the March 23 event under lights.

Another highlight of the year for Gunnedah MCC was hosting the NSW Senior Dirt Track Titles, which attracted riders from interstate as well as from NSW in mid-July.

At the NSW Senior Dirt Track Titles, Mudgee-based Gunnedah member Katarna Robinson won the pro open women’s class while Jared Marko and Shaun Fuller were second in the 1100cc sidecars. Tom Donnelly placed third in the pro 450.

Numerous other Gunnedah MCC members had success this year, including Hugo Holmes, Tai McNamara, Lawrence Fairey, Jordan Dall and Daniel Wicks.

Hugo was NSW Junior Dirt Track champion in the 85cc-150cc 9 to 13 years class at Kurri Kurri in April, and placed second in the 65cc 9-13 years and the 85cc modified class.

Tai placed third in the 50cc 7 to 9 years class.

In the Australian Flat Track Nationals, Hugo gained a second placing in round one while Jordan gained a third placing.

With the nationals event comprising six rounds, Daniel has reached second in the pro 450 while Jordan has reached fifth.

Lawrence has reached fifth in the clubman class while Hugo has reached fifth place overall.

At the NSW Senior Track Titles in Quirindi, Jordan placed second in the unlimited slider and in the 500cc slider, as well as third in the pro 450. Daniel meanwhile won the MX open and finished runner-up in the pro 450.

Gunnedah MCC is now awaiting the Motorcycling NSW results, after the club was named in the finalists (top-four) for Club of the Year and Social Media of the Year.

Life member Denise Dall was also nominated for Volunteer of the Year.
