A Gunnedah athletics record dating back 27 years was broken twice in last Saturday’s Gunnedah Little Athletics club meet at Donnelly Fields.
Josh Spinks established a record time of 2 minutes and 32 seconds while Cooper Galton was just one second behind in the 13 years boys 800m, as the duo broke Tim Hillard’s time of 2.34 from 1997.
Many young athletes at the Gunnedah club also had a successful day last Saturday, as there were 122 personal best (PB) times across the board.
Seven athletes recorded a PB in all four events – shotput, long jump, 100m and 800m – while others set a PB in one, two or three events.
RECORD-BREAKER: Josh Spinks with his award after breaking the record in the 13 years boys 800m event at Gunnedah little athletics.
