Swimming Gunnedah made waves in the pool at Tamworth last Saturday as the club recorded some fantastic results at the Scully Park swim carnival.
An impressive squad of 25 swimmers lined up on the blocks, before bringing home a huge medal haul that included 38 gold, 25 silver and 16 bronze.
Competitors also posted a massive 62 personal best (PB) times, reflecting the talent and ongoing growth of the club.
Head coach Colin Marley was impressed with his squad’s results as the summer long course season moves into full swing.
The Dash for Cash was a highlight, with five swimmers making the finals in their age group. Will Jansen, Lewis Mainey, Wyatt Shorter, Tahnee Steele and Alexis Whitton raced their hardest in a 50m freestyle sprint to the finish, with Alexis placing first in her 13&O division.
Six-year-old Jessica Dalessandro broke a 33-year-old Gunnedah club record after blitzing the pool in the 7&U 25m butterfly with a time of 26.28 seconds. She shaved 3.25 seconds off her best, to break the previous record of 28.94 held by Dearne McIntosh since 1991.
There were some huge PBs across the board, with 10-year-old Wyatt posting eight PBs including a 51-second improvement in his 200m Individual Medley.

Twins Jake and Evan Hausfeld (12), Lukas Burden (10) and Madelyn Whitton (8) performed well along with Harry Ramien (8) who swam at his first carnival.
Meanwhile, the Sills brothers battled strong winds and dusty conditions at Narromine last Sunday. Cameron (10) bagged three pool records in the 50m breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle, and came home with a huge haul of 13 gold medals while brother Aiden (8) secured two bronze.
