Gunnedah was no match for Bective East in the second grade T20 clash at Bicentennial Park last Friday night.

Gunnedah was bowled out for 73 in 18.4 overs, before Bective East won by eight wickets with 59 balls to spare.

The visitors were two wickets down for no runs after just four balls.

A 31-run partnership was followed by the loss of two wickets for one run, and there was no sign of a recovery.

A ‘fill-in’ player top-scored for Gunnedah with 28 at number four, while the next best score was 11.

Bective East was 1-14 when James McGowan took a caught-and-bowled in the second over, before the fifth over yielded 15 runs.

Josh Green claimed a wicket in the eighth over, before Harry Morrow sealed victory as he struck the first ball of the 11th over to the boundary.

Bective East 2-76 (Mathew Beattie 30 not out; James McGowan 1-9) defeated Gunnedah 9-73 (Marty Hatton 4-20, Craig Baker 3-11) by eight wickets.
