Yallambee Homes for the Aged enjoyed their annual Christmas function with some 40 residents, staff, board members and guests attending on Sunday night in the dining room of Yallambee.
The dining room proved to be a cool location despite the 40 degree heat outside as the newly installed solar panels kept the cooling system pumping and guests were able to enjoy the evening in comfort.
Yallambee board chairperson and Gunnedah shire mayor, Colleen Fuller, welcomed all the guests on behalf of the board:
“We are pleased to conduct another Christmas function in order to share with our residents of Yallambee this very special time of the year,” the mayor said. “It is also a very good opportunity to thank our staff members, led by long term supervisor, Tania Keath, for the excellent work that they have done throughout the year in looking out for the needs of our residents. The relationship is an excellent one.”

Ms Fuller also thanked Rotary Club of Gunnedah West representative, Mr Bruce Higham, for the assistance that the club has provided in the conduct of the charity golf day and the recent installation of a shelter area on the Yallambee site.
“This assistance by Rotarians is very much needed and appreciated by both the board and the residents,” explained Ms Fuller.
Other special guests included past long term secretary, Margaret Dodd, and committee member Judy Chapman who had both provided decades of service to Yallambee.
Final thanks were given to Dominic Goodwin-Hauck, from the Gunnedah Conservatorium of Music, who provided entertainment during the evening.
