Gunnedah’s infamous brick-walled roundabout claimed another scalp on the cusp of New Year’s Eve last year.

The blue sedan’s passenger airbag was seen deployed after the crash at the corner of Chandos and Conadilly streets.

A significant part of the routinely repaired brick wall surrounding the roundabout was also damaged.

It is not known how the crash occurred, if any other vehicles were involved or injuries reported. Gunnedah police was contacted for comment.

Different parts of the walled structure are often damaged by wayward vehicles, then repaired and damaged again in later crashes.

During the Christmas and New Year holiday period, NSW Police reported 66 major crashes in the Western Region alone.
