About 3pm last Friday, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to a cyclist hit by a car at Quirindi, north of Willow Tree.

A spokesperson said a young girl was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team for back injuries before being transported to Tamworth Base Hospital.

Weapon, DV charges

A man was charged with firearms, drug and domestic violence offences at Binnaway.

About 11am on Monday, January 13, officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District were called to a home on David Street, following reports of a domestic violence incident.

Police will allege in court that between 7am and 8am that day, a 41-year-old man assaulted a woman – who was known to him – inside the David Street home.

Upon arrival at the residence, officers established a crime scene and conducted a search, at which time they allegedly located and seized: two .22 foldable revolver pistols, an unregistered .177 air rifle, a replica military-styled gel blaster, a BB gun, two slingshots, a prohibited knife, cannabis plants and seeds, handcuffs, a baton, and ammunition.

Officers arrested a 41-year-old man and took him to Coonabarabran Police Station, where he was charged. The main was bail refused to face Coonabarabran Local Court on Friday January, 24.
