Bacon, eggs, sausages and onions were available for sandwiches while soft drinks and water were also on offer at the Rotary Club of Gunnedah’s barbecue breakfast at Donnelly Fields last Sunday.
Attendees included Dennis and Di Gilleland, a Geraldton-based couple who have travelled around Australia by caravan since last year and decided to drop in at Gunnedah on Australia Day.
A one-time Citizen of the Year award winner in Geraldton, Di was interested to attend an event involving a Rotary Club as she is a member of the Rotary Club of Greater Geraldton.
The Gillelands said they planned to return home in April or May.
Rotary Club of Gunnedah member Rodger Lucas thanked the Rotarians as well as the attendees, and said it was good to have the ‘Aussie Fest’ sporting activity nearby and to be in the shade among the gum trees.
