It is the final call for entries in the Gunnedah Times 2025 National Rugby League (NRL) footy tipping competition.
The 2025 season will kick off on March 2 with a double header in Las Vegas but final entries are due February 14 for readers and businesses in the footy tipping competition.
Defending champion reader footy tipper Chris Mallon encouraged people to come on board after winning last year’s competition.
“If anyone is thinking about taking part, I’d say go for it,” he said.
“It’s a good bit of rivalry between friends.”
Chris described the prize package which included a trip for two people to the 2025 NRL Grand Final including tickets, return flights and luxury accommodation as “fantastic”.
“The Radisson Blu Plaza Sydney hotel couldn’t do enough for you, just magnificent,” he said.
“A great location too … right in the centre of Sydney – you’re a stone’s throw from everything.”
Also nominating for this year’s reader’s competition is long-time competition supporter, Amanda Cooper.
The die-hard Manly Sea Eagles follower has entered the Gunnedah Times NRL Footy Tipping Competition every year since its inception.
“I’m a huge Manly fan,” Amanda said.
“It’s a great (footy tipping) competition … I really enjoy seeing it each week.”
The Gunnedah resident is hoping to improve on last season’s result where she finished near the bottom of the ladder.
“I went well the first season but last year was the worst,” she conceded.
Amanda’s NRL rivalry doesn’t end on the footy tipping pages either with her son a loyal Souths supporter. She said it makes for an interesting club showdown when the two teams meet each season.
