Thank you for the nomination

I would like to thank the people in various organisations to which I belong for their help and support especially Colleen and the Meals on Wheels committee for their nomination, to be named Citizen of the Year – a great surprise and a lovely thrill to be so appreciated within our community. Congratulations to all other nominees.

I would like to reiterate my appeal for businesses to join our (meals on wheels) roster – nominate an employee to deliver meals one hour, once a month. This is one way to maintain our very vital service, ensuring your loved ones are guaranteed one hot meal at lunchtime for a very reasonable cost. Please business owners consider this.

I would also like to thank the Australia Day committee, headed by councillor Ann Luke for a wonderful variety of activities on Australia Day in Gunnedah.

Thank you also to our wonderful ambassador Patrick Warmoll, representing Jack’s Creek and their world acclaimed steaks. Patrick proved an eloquent speaker and was on hand during the day at the various activities being run. “Another successful Gunnedah product!”

Another thank you to Colleen Fuller and the meals on wheels committee for their excellent luncheon held for clients and volunteers, it was a most enjoyable function.

Gunnedah’s Citizen of the Year,

Leonie Harley
