By Gunnedah shire mayor Colleen Fuller

It’s been a busy and enjoyable start to 2025 for the new council group and I would like to thank my fellow councillors and our hard-working staff for their tremendous efforts so far this year.

We have certainly hit the ground running and everyone should be commended on how well they have handled the pressure with the best interests of the community always at heart.

For us to continue to have our finger on the pulse when it comes to best meeting the needs of our community, I would like to encourage you to keep in touch with us here at council.

There are many ways in which you can also keep up to date with things that interest you or are important to you.

Council’s Facebook page which has a strong following – along with the Facebook pages of the library, Visit Gunnedah and the Civic – are all great platforms to keep an eye on and stay abreast of what’s happening.

We are of course mindful that not everyone is on social media, so I would like to outline a few other ways to find out about events, news, and changes.

As well as this fortnightly column in the Gunnedah Times and regular local radio spots chatting about all things Gunnedah Shire Council, we have a dedicated fortnightly Council News ad in the newspaper that features all the latest news.

Our website www.gunnedah.nsw.gov.au also is an effective way to keep up to date and if you are a business owner, you can sign up to the ‘Gunnedah Business News’ newsletter on the website under Business – Business Support. This informative newsletter is full of events and opportunities.

Council also has a ‘What’s On’ newsletter for events held at council venues or sponsored by council that is distributed to subscribers fortnightly.

If you need more information or guidance on how to access our website and various communications, please contact our friendly and helpful customer service team on (02) 6740 2100.
