The winner’s list was growing on the opening day of the 2025 Gunnedah Music Eisteddfod on Wednesday.

From infants to high school, the opening acts delighted the mums, dads, grandparents and school staff in attendance.

Among those taking part in the morning session were Gunnedah South Public School, St Xavier’s Primary School, St Mary’s College Gunnedah and Tamworth South Public School in the school choir sections.

Gunnedah South Stage 3D won the ‘Traditional Indigenous Group’ section, just edging out Gunnedah Public School.

Crowd favourite GS Kidd Memorial School won the Heath King Memorial Award in the ‘Opportunity section, solo or group’.
