An action and fun-filled night of racing awaits at the Gunnedah Greyhound Track this Sunday, with the final of the prestigious Ladbrokes Chief Havoc taking place.

A prize of $40,000 awaits the winner.

Last Sunday featured four heats, with Out of Style winning the first one and being the quickest qualifier with a time of 30.24.

In the second of the heats, the locally trained Fantastic Ralph (for Allan Syphers) clocked a slightly slower time of 30.33 to record his eighth win over the distance.

The other heat winners were Player One and Fancy Mal, who was also in last year’s final.

Only 0.4 of a second was the difference between the finalists, which also included the second placegetters in each heat including the Tamworth prepared chaser Aussie Zac for Mark Craig.

The box draw which was conducted trackside after the final heat for Sunday’s final is: 1 Ali Tango, 2 Walk The Talk, 3 Out of Style, 4 Aussie Zac, 5 Fancy Mal, 6 Fantastic Ralph, 7 Player One, 8 Canya Brew It. First reserve is George Taro, and second reserve is Swift Bonnie.

Accompanying the program is the Feral Franky maiden final over the 340m distance where some very smart youngsters have qualified for the final.

Fastest of the heat winners was Molly Bush for Gunnedah trainer Jamie Bush, clocking 19.42 seconds which was marginally quicker than the 19.44 clocked by Minty Dancer for Shaun Guthrie from Lake Cathie (near Part Macquarie).

Other feature races include the Courthouse and Railway Hotels sprint final, Mikeloren Patisserie sprint, Peel Traffic Control, Hopes Fuel, Palawa King @ Stud and the Dusty Bourbski Damsels Stake (a race for the girls only, over the 431m distance).
