Gunnedah gymnasts returned home from the Country Capital Cup in Tamworth over the long weekend with a swag of medals and trophies.

The Gunnedah gymnasts were among almost 1000 competitors from throughout NSW to contest this three-day event at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre (TRECC).

Competing in Levels 3 to 7, the Gunnedah girls secured top honours in five divisions, with three out of four gold medal team awards.

The Level 3 team secured the gold medal in its division last Friday morning to set the scene for the rest of the weekend.

Newcomer, Maddi Hill, stole the show with an immaculate floor routine, to score 9.50 and take the gold medal.

Elodie Warren collected the silver medal on Floor, with 9.325, and also secured silver on Vault ahead of teammate Ava Reid, who claimed bronze.

Evie Formann secured gold on Uneven Bars.

Ashley Ross and Stella Geddes were valuable contributors to the team total, picking up minor medal placings across different apparatus.

In Level 4, Lily Griffith was the overall gold medallist in her division. She also claimed the individual gold medal on Bars, and silver on Vault and Floor.

Maleaka Sharpley secured silver in the all-around, accompanied by silver on Bars.

Consistent performances by the five-strong team enabled the quintet to claim the bronze medal in the team event.

In National Level 5, Lilah Edmunds was the all-around gold medallist in her division and also secured gold on Beam and bronze on Bars.

Kate Randall secured gold in the all-around in her division, with gold on Vault and Floor and bronze on Beam.

Mia Geddes claimed silver in the all-around, with a near-flawless beam routine that scored 9.50 and earned her the gold medal on that apparatus.

Hadley Durrant claimed silver on Bars, while Ava Willoughby achieved bronze on this apparatus to help secure gold for this team of five.

In National Level 6, Ruby Cygan won silver in the all-around, as well as silver on Vault and Floor.
