Lake Keepit made a special appearance on a statewide, tourism television program on Sunday.
The Gunnedah region’s popular recreation destination was featured on Channel 7’s Sydney Weekender.
Much of the program included a generous showing of Keepit’s new $4 million glamping accommodation which opened earlier this year.
The nearby Carroll Gap Farmhouse also made a brief appearance on the show which according to its website, has showcased locations, activities and produce from across NSW for the last 30 years.
The new digs at Keepit are operated by Reflections Holidays – a Crown Land Manager that cares for 41 holiday parks and 47 nature reserves in coastal and inland areas.
As the group reinvests all profits back into the parks and reserves, Reflections Holidays is described through its promotion as Australia’s only holiday group that is a certified social enterprise.
Keepit Dam is currently at 75 per cent capacity. The water storage facility has recently been in the headlines for the proposal by the NSW Government to build a pipeline from Keepit to Tamworth. The proposal is currently in the consultation phase.
It is one of four proposed options to supplement Tamworth’s critical water security risks. But the Gunnedah region and communities downstream are worried about the implications a pipeline to Tamworth would have on their own water requirements.
