Liverpool Plains Shire Council will ramp up its advocacy to state and federal politicians to call for additional funding to improve transport infrastructure and help address the unacceptable level of fatalities and serious injuries on local roads across NSW. The advocacy comes after council’s mayor, Cr Ken Cudmore, attended the 2025 NSW Local Roads Congress in early June, which brought together mayors and councillors from across rural and regional NSW to focus on the critical issues facing NSW local road networks. Meanwhile, an extra $1.4 million in NSW government funding has been secured by council for improvements to Woodton Rd, Chilcotts Creek Rd as well as several culverts and causeways across the shire.
