The Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, made several stops during her time in Gunnedah last week, one of which being the Red Chief Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC) as part of her commitment to visiting regional towns in NSW.

She met with Red Chief LALC Chair, Jean Hands, Chief Executive Officer Troy Ruttley and board members who took the opportunity to

discuss what the council is doing to support Aboriginal people in the community.

It was also an opportunity to showcase the Gunnedah Women’s Workforce Readiness and Empowerment Initiative and the Red Chief LALC.

They also discussed with her the significance of LALCs across NSW and how they work with NSW Aboriginal Land Council.
