Spotlight: New books

Our latest romantasy purchase The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy (FSF KNI) by debut author Brigitte Knightley is ready to be borrowed. Gentleman assassin Osric Morduant is in dire need of healing, unfortunately the only healer who can help is scholarly Aurienne Fairhrim. Aurienne is desperate for funding to heal the sick, so when Osric bribes her to help him, she accepts. Will these enemies become lovers?

Just what we librarians love, a fellow fighter against censorship! The Banned Books of Berlin (AF WOO) by Daisy Wood is the story of Freya, forced to make a choice in 1930’s Berlin: continue as a bystander, or sacrifice herself to save others. A story of bravery and betrayal, and how one person can make a difference.

If you are a true crime devotee, look for Martha Needle (364 WIL) by Brian Williams. Branded one of Australia’s worst murderesses of all time, it examines the life and crimes of serial poisoner Martha Needle and asks if her victim count is entirely accurate, or whether she is responsible for more deaths than originally thought.
