The father-and-son combination of Harry and Tom Major reigned supreme by a tiny margin in the two-person Ambrose at the Gunnedah golf course on Monday, as 72 golfers competed in the Australia Day two-person Ambrose.
A nine-hole round was played in the hot conditions, while participants also enjoyed a sausage sizzle and cold drinks.
The success for the Major duo came nearly a year after Tom began his role as Gunnedah golf pro, whereas Harry travelled from Coffs Harbour.
The winners had a score of 30 nett while the next two placegetters were only 0.25 of a point behind.
