A mix of Gunnedah-based junior and senior Australian Rules footballers converged at Wolseley Park last Saturday morning for a ‘Kick to kick’ session.
Gunnedah Bulldogs men’s player-coach Jakob Vearing led the session, one week before the Bulldogs’ first match of the AFL North West (NSW) competition.
One of the activities at the ‘Kick to kick’ session involved weaving through posts, bouncing the ball, skipping, charging into a blocking pad, and kicking for goal.
Another activity involved leaping at the blocking pad for a high mark.
A modified game subsequently took place, with the seniors ensuring the juniors had the chance to be prominently involved.
The junior season begins with training on Thursday April 23, before Gunnedah hosts a gala day on May 3.
