A man has died following a three-car collision between Gunnedah and Tamworth at the weekend.
About 6:30pm on Saturday, July 18, emergency services were called to the Oxley Highway at Somerton following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Oxley Police District attended and located three vehicles that had collided.
A 57-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however, he died at the scene.
A 69-year-old man was treated at the scene before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
The two occupants of the third vehicle, a 56-year-old man and a 20-year-old man were reported as uninjured.
The Oxley Highway was closed for several hours while an investigation into the collision was underway.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
