THE four rounds of the women’s club championships began last Tuesday. Daily winners are announced after play each day.
There is a winner and a runner-up in each division.
Division 1: Sally Toppin 75 on a countback from Helen Baker.
Division 2: Kerrie Ward 69 and Kay Clarke 72.
Division 3: Joan Bray 73 and Judy Lee 76 on a countback.
Nearest-the-pin on the second was Jane McWhirter and on the seventh Anne Finnigan.
Balls went to the six placegetters as well as Sophie Carter, Lizzie Higham, Di Hasler, Penny Crawford and Lyn Mitchell.
Two trophies are awarded on the first day for the best gross and nett scores.
Michelle Johnston was the Gunnedah Plate winner for the best gross and Kerrie Ward won the Mavis Sheehan for the best nett.
In the second round of the championships played last Thursday, new golfers were on the winner’s list.
Division 1: Penny Crawford 73 from Anne Finnigan 74.
Division 2: Fay Hausfeld 76 and Jacinta Stanley 78.
Division 3: Mary Gregson 70 and Di Hasler 76.
Nearest-the-pin on the second and seventh holes were Michelle Johnston and Kay Clarke.
Balls were won by the day’s placegetters and Joan Bray, Ros McDonald, Kerrie Ward, Sophie King and Sally Toppin.
