Spotlight: ARMCHAIR TRAVEL

Ever wanted to experience another country without your feet leaving solid ground?

Come along to our Seniors Engagement Talk on Monday 21 September and enjoy hearing seasoned travellers discuss their recent trips abroad.

We have a visitor to the Somme battlefields who will speak about this sombre and moving experience, a traveller who explored New Caledonia, and another who will talk about her time in South-East Asia.

There is a neat row of shelves when you enter our library and to the left, known as Australian Fiction. It is here that you can find anything your book-heart desires. Looking for a romance set in a country town? It’s right there! A gritty thriller set in the city? Next shelf down. A great story set long ago, filled with those historical facts that make you feel like you are right there? You’ll find them here, here and over there!

You will find books set in Australia, as well as titles written by Australian authors encompassing the whole world.

Spotlight: NEW BOOKS

Murder, mayhem and motorcycles in The Informant (AFA GRE) by Christine Gregory. The town of Hopeville is thrown into chaos when the president of the local motorcycle gang is found dead beside his car on a dirt road. There were no witnesses and no one is talking. Journalist Lars Nilsson is sent to cover the story, but soon finds himself in the centre of something that goes far deeper.
