KATRINA Burgoyne will make a long-awaited tour of NSW and Queensland, including her hometown of Gunnedah later this year.

The Nashville-based singer/songwriter last performed on home soil in 2024 where she announced her pregnancy and did a gender reveal in front of the Gunnedah Town Hall.

Katrina is excited to return home to family with her husband, Steve Kinney, and daughter, Poppy.

“We’re also trying to bring a full American band out,” Katrina said.

Katrina has confirmed performances in Gunnedah, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Sydney and Newcastle.

If she receives enough interest, she will also look at performing in Narrabri, Tamworth and Toowoomba.

“It’s a lot of work,” Katrina said of bringing a band out from America.

“Coming to regional areas, the costs are a lot higher.”

The extraordinarily talented Katrina has poured her heart and soul into making a career out of music while living in America’s ‘Music City’.

Her breakthrough came earlier this year after she made a shift into using social media to grow her following.

Katrina’s acclaimed song Back Up become a huge hit online.

That song has had 250,000 streams on Spotify with no additional promotion from the platform.

She is now getting about five million views on Facebook and Instagram every month.

The singer/songwriter has also made a point of using TikTok to engage with fans.

Katrina has a large following on TikTok with 185,000 followers and 1.7 million likes.

She acknowledged the difficulty in getting herself known in Nashville despite all of her extensive efforts and talent.

“I couldn’t bang down doors. I’ve never had management, an agent, or a publishing deal,” Katrina said.

After seeing musicians experience success through social media, Katrina shifted her focus.

“The last six months has been incredible,” she said.

“It’s the biggest accomplishment of my career.

“I’m getting streamers to hear my music and I’ve figured out how to build it.”

Katrina is excited to return home to see her mum, Liz, and her aunty.

When asked if her family was excited for her home tour, she joked that seeing Poppy would be the greater highlight.

In the meantime, plans for her November tour are a work in progress.

“My goal is to have that full American band,” she said.

One of her biggest challenges so far is the cost to hire a drum kit.

Katrina has said she is open to seeking a sponsor to ensure that audiences get the full American band experience.

Further details about her tour will be available through her social media channels and her website.
