POLICE are appealing for information after firearms and ammunition were stolen from a property in Kelvin.
Officers attached to Oxley Police District were called to a rural property on Kelvin Road, about 30km north-east of Gunnedah, about 5.30pm on Monday 27 July following reports of a break and enter.
Police arrived and were told sometime between 9am on Sunday 26 July and 5.30pm on Monday 27 July 27, unknown people had forced entry into the home and forcibly removed a firearm safe containing firearms, damaging the wall and floor.
The firearms reported stolen include a .22LR Lithgow Slazenger 12 bolt-action rifle, Boito Reuna .410-gauge single-barrel shotgun, and a .223 Howa bolt-action rifle with a scope attached, along with 24 rounds of .223 ammunition, 75 rounds of .22 ammunition and rat shot. All were contained within a Buffalo Creek firearm safe.
