The Gunnedah Bridge Club hosted another enjoyable social day on Monday 21 September, welcoming 22 players who travelled from Tamworth to join local members.

With strong numbers from Gunnedah as well, a total of 12 tables were in play at the Gunnedah Shire Band Hall, which once again proved an ideal venue for the event.

Adding to the day’s hospitality, ladies from the Gunnedah Red Cross catered for the players, providing a delicious and varied spread for the luncheon.

There was plenty of friendly competition around the tables, with Penny and Phillip Powell taking out the east-west section for Tamworth. Ann Luke and Di Hasler were the north-south winners for Gunnedah.

While bridge provides plenty of opportunity for social interaction and friendship, it is also a game of strategy and skill that helps keep the mind active.

New players are always welcome at the Gunnedah Bridge Club, and lessons can be arranged for anyone interested in learning the game.
