Easter was the main theme as the Gunnedah Golf Club hosted a trivia night on Wednesday of last week.
Teams ranged from two to eight people as 10 teams competed while there were two rounds of each of the three topics: Australiana, Easter, and general knowledge.
Some of the general knowledge questions pertained to Gunnedah, including the location of the conservatorium and the number of streets starting with the word ‘Little’.
There were also games of heads or tails and stand up/sit down, as well as acronyms and numbers.
Acronyms involved spelling out terms such as FBI, CSIRO, RBT, UNESCO, WHO, QANTAS, UNICEF, SMS, ANZAC, EFTPOS, ASIO, NASA and UWS.
Number-related questions pertained to things including cards in a deck, ancient wonders of the world, holes on a golf course, planets in the solar system, players in a cricket team, squares on a chessboard, legs on a spider, seconds in a minute, and seasons in a year.
The winning team was Know It Ales with 94 points while runners-up Eggsteins had 86, after Know It Ales hit the lead for the first time in the penultimate round.
Know It Ales had an Easter vibe as all six of their members donned rabbit ears.
Event organiser Jacinta Stanley said everyone seemingly had a good time.
“There were quite a few new ones I’d never seen before. Hopefully they’ll come back,” she said.
Runners-up Eggsteins: Anthony Hennessy, Geoff Coates, Hannah Coates, Lindsay Johnston, Michelle Johnston, Jo Eather and Gavin Eather.
