After postponing its annual national clean up day in March due of inclement weather, Gunnible Landcare – which is open to all in the Gunnedah shire – has plans to clean up the northern approach to Gunnedah on Sunday.
The Gunnedah-based rural landcare group – now in its 27th year – ensure the area from the aerodrome – Wean Road, O’Keefe Avenue – Kelvin Road and the North Namoi Foreshore, are given a makeover annually.
Access to Cohens Bridge and Kelvin Road over the Namoi River is this year restricted due to bridge maintenance which has been extended until July.
The task at hand is this Sunday (May 4) starting at 8am sharp, to meet for registration at the aerodrome carpark, to follow the Wean Road, as well as the alternate route to Gunnedah, the Old Blue Vale Road, to Ballyragen Bridge.
Afterwards, a morning tea will be provided at the aerodrome carpark
The group also highlighted a successful rural ‘Soils Symposium’ held on March 12. This event was organised by Gunnible Landcare at Emerald Hill, assisted by Gunnedah Urban Landcare Group.
