Music enthusiasts can now get their hands on the Gunnedah Conservatorium’s newest event booklet.
It is the guide to all things musical entertainment in the shire and encapsulates a variety of interests.
Not only does the front cover beautifully boast local artist Anne Pickett’s lino work, there are also plenty of other local aspects.
From the hire of graphic designer Alyssa Barwick from Two Cats Creative and printing at The Printery, it was made by locals for locals.
Gunnedah Conservatorium director Rebecca Ryan said staff were very pleased with the overall result of the program.
“We always try to have a program that stands on its own merits and is national international quality,” she said.
“It’s lovely to be able to feature a local artist on the cover and I think it might be something that we continue.”
The conservatorium is a not-for-profit and receives government funding but chooses to spend money locally where possible.
From front to back, it has everything the year has in store but also has opportunities for people to get involved.
The Gunnedah Conservatorium can provide education for people of all ages or people can come together for Make Music Day.
The first pages to check out are two acts that have been brought back after highly praised performances last year.
Tonight, there will be a performance from the Hot Potato Band, and to celebrate the recent centenary of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Chapel the Acacia Quartet will play in the sacred space later this month.
Booking tickets have been made easy with QR codes but there is always an opportunity to stop by to purchase in person.
Rebecca also encouraged people to let the conservatorium know of any artists the public may want to see, as preparations will soon be underway for the 2026 program.
Rebecca encouraged any business that would like a stack of event booklets to leave on counters or hand out to contact the conservatorium.
