Gunnedah High School came together last Friday for a special cause – Do It For Dolly Day.
The annual event is held in memory of 14-year-old Dolly Everett who in 2018 took her own life after an extended period of bullying and cyber-bullying. Inspired by her spirit and fuelled by hope, Dolly’s parents set out on a mission to create a kinder, safer world for every child.
Thanks to generous support of the Gunnedah High community, the school raised $635 for the charity.
The school sent a massive shoutout to its amazing SRC students: Breanna Kemp, Kayla White, Cobi Jolliffe, Layla Budden, Brooklyn Hunt, and Breanna Moyses, who generously gave up their recess and lunch to run the bake sale stall. Their enthusiasm and dedication made a real difference.
The school also thanked Ms Saunders for working with the talented hospitality students to prepare delicious food, and to Chris Pease and Ms Wenham for contributing mouthwatering treats as well.
Together, the school hoped they helped raise awareness and give a voice to those silenced by bullying.
