The Gunnedah ladies golf team comprising Anne Finnigan, Lyn Mitchell and Helen Baker won the Thacker Salver on Monday.
Following the North and North West ladies golf tournament in Moree early this month, the best two teams played off for the Moree and Thacker Salvers.
Moree and Longyard were the winners, and so they played off for the Moree Salver at a neutral course.
Gunnedah was chosen as the course and, as the host club, Gunnedah was able to play as an extra team in the handicap Thacker Salver.
Longyard won the Moree Salver in five two way match plays, with players playing off scratch.
In the Thacker Salver, three teams played three way match play with handicaps coming into account.
The Gunnedah team convincingly won its matches against Longyard and Moree, with all of these matches finishing with at least four holes to go.
