Emerald Hill Country Women’s Association is preparing to celebrate CWA Awareness Week which starts on September 8.
The organisation has enjoyed a productive few months with recent activity including substantial donations to Can Assist. The CWA noted that Jayne Norsworthy’s two-year old grandaughter Tori is undergoing chemotherapy treatment in Sydney for liver cancer.
Jayne is looking after Tori’s twin, Hallie, and will be in Sydney for about six months during this time.
A donation was also made to Wingham CWA which has provided $190,000 worth of bedding and white goods to residents in Taree and surrounding districts affected by floods in May.
Emerald Hill members have catered for a VIEW Club lunch and also made sandwiches with Namoi Group members for the three days of AgQuip.
A new Emerald Hill CWA cookbook is in the hands of leading graphic designer. The CWA hope this will be ready for publishing in the near future and we are very appreciative appreciative of the sponsorship provided by Club Gunnedah.
As Korea is the association’s ‘Country of Study’ this year, 11 CWA members recently enjoyed a Korean lunch hosted by Gunnedah Korean BBQ and Cafe. But in sad news out of Gunnedah Korean BBQ and Cafe this week, the Multicultural Women’s Association advised of the “sudden passing” of business owner Ahjusshi (uncle) Kadrick Lim.
“We will always remember his kindness to us all, his big smile, his unwavering support and participation every year in our Multicultural Festival,” a spokesperson said.
“His amazing Korean fried chickens and gimbaps will be missed in our events. We will miss the delicious foods in his restaurant and the smell of Korean barbecue that is so loved by the community. Thank you for bringing something new and exciting in this country town.”
