Gunnedah’s first Community Handball Competition has been postponed until October 16.

The event is being hosted by the Ripple Effect North West, a not-for-profit focused on supporting and delivering programs to increase community wellbeing and improve mental health.

Meanwhile, pre-event competition has been heating up at the Gunnedah Times which will nominate one representative to contest the community event.

Journalist Jen Mitchell was seen sharpening the skills ahead of the tournament with a friendly, exhibition match against Jacinta Mannion from the Ripple Effect on Wednesday. Despite protests from both sides, the independent sideline adjudicator ruled the game a tie.
